Did you know?
The Hubble Telescope is able to discern stars that are approaching magnitude 30 on this scale. That is stars that are 4 billion times fainter than the human eye can see alone.

Well another Chrimbo is almost upon us already, and like the last 2-years, I've sent out my annual Christmas letter to close friends - well those I've still got the addresses for....

Dear All,

Can you believe that Chrimbo is already almost upon us? Didn’t it feel like summer was just yesterday – well it felt like this for me, because everything has being fantastic this year – well okay pretty good at the very least.

I’ve been able to meet some of you during the year at some point, yet another round of apologises for those who I haven’t been able to meet for one reason or another. There is always next year right?

Well from this year, a few things to update you all, family is all well – nothing major to report on this front; my big bros, Kieren, is aiming to complete his doctorate very soon for Winter Graduation – so in the next few weeks, there will be a Doctor in the house! Kewl hey?

Per last year’s Christmas note, I’m still working at American Express down in Brighton – which is lots of fun, there are some great and knowledgeable people there and I’ve enjoyed the time I’ve been here and the experience gained. As some of you realise, I am on an IT Graduate Scheme, which means that it’s a 2-yr contract working for the company on the ‘training programme’. The one downside for the one with AMEX is that there is not a ‘guaranteed’ job at the end of the 2-yr programme, so there is a risk that I will be jobless. So, to mitigate the risk, I decided to start looking for internal postings after the first year, and the great news is that I’ve very recently landed myself a permanent position within AMEX. It’s a ‘Project Manager’ role in the Business (rather than Technologies); at the very least it is job-security, and now I can concentrate wholeheartedly on the job itself. Pay, prospect, security and career progression are all a bonus – so what more can I say?

On the university front, I am still doing well in my MSc (Masters) – which is part of the AMEX IT Graduate programme ‘package’. Only another 9 months to go, hopefully I will be crowned with an MSc in ITEC in Sept 2005. Can’t wait!!

One last note, I’ve recently revamped my website >>> http://www.brigatti.co.uk, so if you have access and time on your hands, drop by and get in contact that way instead! I’ve got a blog up there which I started about 2 months back and also a great gallery, which I am hoping will grow and grow I am in the process of transferring (or should that be ‘digitalising’) some of our “older” photos onto the site too – so what’s this space!

Look forward to hear, speak or see ya soon (hopefully)

Take care and best wishes and have a great 2005

Regards,

Aaron.
