Friday, 30th March:

Had a nice room-service breakfast, very nice – okay I was being lazy!

Attempted to walk to the office – was about 20-minutes away, but since I lost my bearings, I had to get a taxi about 10 minutes into the walk   All experience, hey?

Normal day, nothing special, just ploughed into the BAU projects, and also follow up on the issue resolution activities that were progressing

Also, tried to make progress with my "other tasks" that I carried over whilst being here, my Cyprus, Bahrain and Airline projects still remained with me!  Hmmm....task slightly more challenging when my e-mail access went back to the stone ages (okay slight exaggeration!).  I didn't have a Blackberry device, nor was I able to hook up my work laptop into the Partner banks network (for security reasons), so I only was able to check my e-mail first thing in the morning from the hotel, in the evening, and occasionally a few times during the day - via dial-up.  Not a pleasant experienced, also made me felt pretty disorganised, as I kept chasing my e-mail, rather than being on top of them!  Grrr.... :(

I decided to take a walk for the evening into the 'Tourist-Trap' area around Plaka.  Actually, apart from having quite a lot of people around, it was a pleasant walk, and I managed to find a nice Greek place (called "Sissifos"), that was just beneath one side of the Acropolis.  Very nice food, nice staff and wasn’t too expensive at all, meal came to €28.30 inclusive.

Then, I just strolled back to the hotel, sampling the evening atmosphere around the area.  Very pleasant and relaxing way to spend my first Friday night here in Athens.
