Did you know?

The Pacific Ocean is three times bigger than Asia, the biggest continent on Earth. It covers nearly one-third of the Earth's surface. Its widest part is about 1,770 km or 11,000 miles. That distance would take you halfway around the world.

For this year, I not only want to illustrate my affection towards that "special lady", but also attempt to take that next bold step - it will definitely moving from that subtle body-language and composure whilst being around her, to the more explicit action!

Gosh this is going to be painful - either the affection and respect is mutual or I am just going to have to find my excuses based on my actions!

So what was I planning to do for Valentine's Day I hear you ask...well nothing too outrageous...(then again!).

My initial thought:

Valentine's 2006 - Thornton Chocolates and a Bouquet of Red Roses

I decided to visit the Thornton's Website and make a 'significant' purchase of one of the fabulous Valentine gifts that they normally offer.

A bouquet of a dozen red roses accompanied by a nice selection (in a heart-shaped box, of course!) of Thornton's Chocolates - the classic gift accompaniment offering, hey?

I thought that these were the right level of gifts that I would be able to offer her without giving too much away (i.e. I didn't purchase something too outrageous that might cross that line - well, okay at this stage!!)

A few days later...Valentine's 2006 - BearsByMail.com Cubbs Teddy Bear
...I decided that actually the lady in question deserved that little bit more, so I made a further bold decision and placed an order for a 'Cubbs' Teddy bear - from bearsbymail.com.  All 16" inches (the bear that is!)

I noted that it seemed to be the 'cutest' one on offer, and after doing a similar thing during a previous Valentine's episode, I decided it might work again!  I think this second part of my Valentine's surprise is something that any lady would really admire.  I really hope it does the trick and emphasises my affection towards her!

Who is it?
Well that would be too easy. All I will say is that she is closer to home (i.e. office) that one would expect! I guess the question still is exactly - hey?

Did it Work?
Well, as I was going to be travelling on the 15th February, I decided to take the next bold step and actually tell the special lady that there would be 'something waiting for her' when she arrived home.  I didn't want to deliver the goods to her work address and embarass her (as if my purchases wouldn't do that already, hmmm!) so arranged delivery of the goods to her home address.

The text then came once I was walking to the car that day - I think she sounded pleasantly surprised and pleased!

I just hope this is something which I can now take to the next level - and it becomes a mutual 'relationship'!  Will it happen, who knows?  Only time will tell, hey?

Wish me well!!

So what happened then?

Well Aaron what happened next?

Did she appreciate the gifts? Or was it simply a smack in the teeth for you?

Look forward to hear more from you!
That's a good question

Well I think it's pretty obvious to her that I feel something towards her!

I am just waiting for the right time to tell her and then make my next bold move 8)

It's all about timing, hey!?
Does she feel the same way?

Well it's 5 days since my little "gifts" made their way to that special lady.

In summary:

  • I think the gifts themselves provided a blatantly obvious message about my affection towards her!
  • I think she knows and her body language since has shown that she 'realises' I feel something towards her (although I don't think text chat really was appropriate - except for the fact I had been out on business travel for the two days after Valentine's and the weekend in-between).
  • I have directed a few subtle invitations her way, about drinks and lunch - currently, some declines (nothing too non-towards about it though!).
  • My next approach is a direct one - ASK HER OUT! Simply hey?

Well here's hoping 8) - it's either a yah or nah as a response, hey? Maybe she is worried about the "working in the same team" issue...
