Whilst visiting Bangsar, we were taken to a nice gem of a Chinese Restaurant called Reunion – the restaurant itself was actually quite intriguing.
The intriguing element was the decor – which had something to be desired – a bit of a bland ‘basement’ location, tucked away in the lower floors of the Bangsar Village 2 Shopping Mall. But we were told that the Hokkien Mee was to die for – and the food choice selected by our hosts, including the Hokkien Mee – was thoroughly delicious!
I decided against taking too many photos of the food during the lunch meal (shock!), but I couldn’t resist taking a few shots of the refreshing desserts. It was called 咖啡香草雪糕凉粉 (that’s Grass Jelly, Vanilla Ice Cream & Espresso to you and I), and for RM9.80++ (that’s about GBP£2!) – it’s an absolute bargain of a dessert!
You literally get served 3 small scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream on top of the Grass Jelly, and a small jug with the Espresso coffee, you then pour the coffee on top to make yourself a Coffee Ice Cream flavoured dessert. An amazing little treat and an interesting experience indeedy!
All round – enjoyable and high-quality Asian Cuisine – highly recommend a visit.
