Well do you remember the days of the Wade Natwest Porcelain Piggies promotion.

Wade Natwest Procelain Piggy-Bank Promotion

The promotion started in 1983 with the aim that a Child saving account would be opened, and when you saved a specific amount, you are rewarded by receiving a further Porcelain piggy - you would then be one step closer to collect the full 5-piggy set.

Who's Who?

The piggies were part of family of five characters

  • Sir Nathaniel Westminster the father,
  • Lady Hillary the mother,
  • Maxwell the boy,
  • Annabel the girl and
  • Woody the baby

You would recieve Woody, the baby pig, once an account was opened, and Sir Westminster, the father, last.

Rumours are that there were over ONE MILLION accounts created as part of this promotion - but obviously it is probably the case that not everyone managed to get the complete set.

The piggies have recently been featured on a recent BBC programme called '20th Century Roadshop' which was broadbast on 14th April 2005.  They have been valued at approximately GBP£250 for a complete set.  We'be got two complete sets so that ain't bad at all!  What a good investment.
