Hairs on the scalp grow about 1/100 of an inch per day, or one inch every three months. Hair will be replaced at least 12 times during a normal life span. Hair never grows on the palms and soles. These are the only areas with no hair follicles.

Saturday, 16 October 2004 was an incredible unique competition set-up a few months back by Angela Browne and Andy Jewitt.  The aim of the competition was to sell a £1/4million house via a "competition" (auction) idea, where tickets were sold for £5 each.

Slowly the prize fund would increase as more and more people enter, and this would build up the fund used to allow the house to be "sold" for the £5 ticket.  There was a reserve prize of £270,000 and if the reserve wasn't reached, the prize fund would be given to the winner of the draw (minus 10% to cover costs/expenses etc).  They would have needed around 50,000 people to enter to ensure the reserve would be met.

The auction closed on 14th Sept 2004, and unfortunately, the reserve was not met.  The winner, Karina Easdown, won the prize of over £73k.  Not bad for a £5 ticket, hey?

What will happen now?  Where the family still have the house, and they are still looking to sell up to move to France.

What will happen with the site, well has been sold to a businessman to continue the notion with another property.
