Prior to modern invention (loud speakers), a man had to walk along the ramp leading towards the top of the tower to shout out the prayer reminder from the top - this happened 5 times a day!

There were 5 doors into the Mosque, with the one towards the nearest left side, reserved for women, the rest were for the men only.

We visited one of the famous palaces within the medina. The design was amazing. We noted that "no animals" were set within the design, only shapes!

The palace was the location of many tombs, one for the boys, one for the females and the other for the king and worthy servants.
