Treetops is the best known Night Viewing Lodge in Africa, due to the fact that it was when Princess Elizabeth went up as a Princess one afternoon, to descend the following morning as Queen Elizabeth II, her father, King George VI, had died during the night.

As it had been raining that afternoon, we were worried that the volumes of animals would not come down to the Waterhole! This was indeed the case, and very little activity occurred over night.
