Total Lunar Eclipse - 2nd March 2007 

During the late evening on Saturday, 2nd March 2007, the world experienced an awe-inspiring natural phenonomens, where the Moon passes into Earth's shadow - a Lunar Eclipse.

Lunar Eclipses occur when the Sun, Earth and Moon are in a near-perfect line in space. The Moon travels through the long cone-shaped shadow that the Earth casts in space. During "totality", only light that has been refracted through the Earth's atmosphere reaches the Moon's surface, making it appear a reddish colour - as this is what we witnessed!

The weather conditions were purrfect - with a clear night sky showing the full effects of the fantastic sight.
