Album: Bali, Jakarta and Hong Kong Holiday December 2006

We had our Christmas dinner in Hong Kong this year, slightly belated, as we were flying back to Hong Kong from Jakatta on Christmas day itself. So, instead, we had Christmas on Boxing Day!

We had it with some close family friends who were also in Hong Kong and also one of my mum's Sisters and her family. We went to the exquisite "Island Shangri-La" restaurant in Central, Hong Kong Island - a fantastic and interesting dining experience.

Our family friends then took us to visit One International Financial Centre (1IFC) where we saw a breathetaking view from the UBS floors, overlooking the rest of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.

We then visited Nan Lian Garden in Diamond Hill, Kowloon, a park designed in the Tang Dynasty-style and adorned with special wooden structures, old and valuable trees and rocks - which formerlly opened to the public on 15th November 2006.

Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong Island

We had a Christmas meal with some of our family and some friends who were in Hong Kong at "Island Shangri-La", a very nice and exquisite place!

Number One International Finance Centre (1IFC), Hong Kong Island

After our Christmas meal, we visited Number One International Financial Centre (1IFC). The IFC complex consists of two skyscrappers (1IFC and 2IFC), the IFC mall, and the 40-storey Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong.

Tower 2 (2IFC) is currently the tallest building in Hong Kong - at 415meters with 88 stories (a VERY lucky number in HK!). 1IFC is only at 210meters tall and has 38 storeys.

We were taken up the the floors occupried by the UBS Investment Bank, and the views were amazing. Hong Kong Island is still one of the best night-views around the world!

Nan Lian Garden, Kowloon, Hong Kong

Occupying an area of 3.5 hectares, the Nan Lian Garden (located in Diamond Hill, Wong Tai Sin, Kowloon) is built in the Tang Dynasty style.

Besides adorned with characteristic timber structures, the garden is studded with clusters of bizarre rocks and planted with lots of old and valuable trees. In the garden there are a vegetarian food restaurant, Chinese tea house and multi-purpose function room to cater for the various needs of visitors.

The Chi Lin Nunnery is entrusted with its management and maintenance.
