Bali, Indonesia

Our second trip involved flying to Bali (via Jakarta) to the Westin Beach and Spa Resort on the Nusa Dua coastal area of the Island.

We also went on a glass-bottom boat road to see the water's exotic fish and coral, as well as visit the infamous 'Turtle Island'.

We visited the Pura Tanah Lot Temple and ate at the Menega Cafe in Jimbaran Bay - which was made famous as being the location of one of the Bali bombings in October 2005 - very sureal!

We also ate the famous "Babi Guling" (that's Pork!), visited the Gunung Agung Volcano and attend the Balinese Theatre, where we had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner and performance.

Menega Cafe in Jimbaran Bay, Muaya Beach, Bali
The Menega Cafe in Jimbaran Bay, Muaya Beach, has been made famous for all the wrong reasons! On 1st October 2005, it became known as the location of one of two bombs which went off along the restaurants on Muaya Beach. Twenty-three people were killed, including three bombers. A third bomb went off around the same time in central Kuta. My thoughts go out to all of those who were affected by this.
