Well I have finally got a local mobile number (for my Corporate blackberry/mobile) – and I must admit that our Corporate mobile service provider, O2 in the UK and SingTel in Singapore, were pretty supportive and effective.
The biggest challenge was initially trying to match the SIM card provided to me by a work colleague and the mobile number, which originally didn’t match, hence why SingTel re-issued a new SIM and transferred the number of the new one. There is no challenge, big or small, that will defeat me…some have tried but most have failed – lol…
O2 UK were able to unlock the network lock on my blackberry (as I explained to them that I was getting a local SIM card for my Blackberry, but intended to minimise OpEx costs by using my existing handset).
They quickly supported me, as well as agreeing to support my request of an email statement upon request, during the time I was abroad.
SingTel Singapore, in 24 hours, were able to issue me a local SIM Card, transfer a colleagues number across (who didn’t need their Blackberry) and get it activated.
Having installed into my Blackberry and reset it, it worked like a treat! Yay! Quick and Easy. Thanks to O2 and SingTel to make this piece of the puzzle easy peasy. I just need to do a similar exercise for my Personal Mobile 🙂 I hope it is as easy as this!
