Today, I was fortunate to have experienced a settle-in tour – a quick cultural visit of the main highlights of the city, including shopping areas, libraries, eating areas, where to bag those bargains (rather than going to the big malls), posts office, public transport advice and other tips and suggestions to ensure I get by bearings and get to around easily.
Also used the opportunity set-up a bank account, get a local SIM card for my personal mobile (the iPhone has arrived in Singapore, but has yet to arrive at my apartment), and buy some fruit from one of the main “wet-markets” – nice 🙂
