Pinchos @ Changkat Bukit Bintang KL

Bellota Tapas

Bellota Tapas

It is possible to get a little bit bored with Asian food – haha… okay I’m only joking, but it is worth going back to the Western Roots and trying some good ol’ Western Cuisine.  Am I talking about Bangers and Mash, Roast Beef or Steak and Ale Pie…nah, I’m talking about Spanish Tapas, of course! 🙂

It’s was delicious, in the right setting, with relaxing company, but can create a very enjoyable and casual evening, without the fuss of an up-class restaurant or food-court mayhem!

On a stroll back from work we located this stretch of road full of bars and restaurants (read the other post for a story about how we found this street!).  We already tried and disliked one of the eating establishments, the Yoko’s Japanese Restaurant (mainly because of the lame service!), so we decided to come back to our favourite “bar and restaurants” street, after we were recommended to visit Pinchos Tapas by a work colleague who is located out in KL.  I must say it didn’t disappoint at all!

The Tapas menu was exquisite, and the food, well simply tasty anad delicious!  We were very relaxed and watched the world go by.  We went for the Prawns with Olives and the Paella Mixta, Pork and Beef meatballs, Aubergine with Chilli Tomato,  and the House Special – Jamón Ibérico de Bellota!  Highly recommend the Bellota!  It is usually one of those Tapas dishes hard to find, so we were pleasantly surprised that they served it in this Tapas establishment.

It also seemed that the owner/manager was Spanish (picture: above) which meant that the restaurant had this Spanish charm about it!  Nice!

loved this place that i went back there 2x in a row during a short work trip to KL last month! first night on a friday, the whole place was abuzz with spaniards and latin americans dancing, buying newfound friends rounds of cocktails and vinos and just general all around fun!

the 2nd night surprisingly was sedate for a Saturday (the Spaniards were clearly recovering from the night before) but this made it more intimate, with your “real Spanish owner-manager” in the photo playing perfect host to me at the bar (yes, he is “Spanish” though better to call him Catalan I recommend!), allowing me to savour my all time favourite, Innedit Cerveza (developed by Ferran Adria of El Bulli fame) – which is hard to find as its a limited edition cerveza! So my great delight in finding it here…

I will stop now but next time I will have to try the food – if its as good as every taste of Pinchos I have had so far, I am sure I will be back again and again and again!

    Que rico!
