The Joint-Founder of Apple and Former CEO, the Late Steve Jobs - RIP!
Like most of Eastern world, we actually heard the news ahead the rest of the world, as the UK, US. Europe, Africa and the Middle-East were still sleeping away.
I was watching the BBC World News Channel when the main news article got my attention – it was about the death of Steve Jobs. I stopped what I was doing and booted up my laptop and started to google the news, as I prepared to go to work (it was around 9am SGT, and his death was announced on the BBC News around 8.30am SGT).
I then went to the Apple website and saw the new home-page, the simple photo in black and white and his name followed by today’s date. What a simple but powerful emotion this created!
The Statement on Apple's Websites - www.apple.com/stevejobs
WOW! I was in shock!
Although, I’ve not really been an avid Apple fan (e.g. I am not waiting tirelessly to be the first person to get a new Apple gadget etc), I had massive respect to Steve Jobs for how he challenge the Industry and made a difference.
My facebook status sums up my thoughts:
“RIP Steve Jobs – you were an inspirational leader, a visionary, a pioneer, someone who pushed the boundaries especially when very few believed in you initially. You will not be forgotten. Thanks for everything… Lest we forget!” (Aaron, 9.03, 6th Oct)
So Steve, thanks for inventing the Apple products that I did eventually own and use to the max, the iPod and the iPhone – great products that will ensure that your legacy will live on 🙂
RESPECT AND HONOUR!!
