Well my mission was to 1) buy the bus tickets for the Malaka holiday, and then 2) find some face paint for a Halloween Party that I was attending in the evening. The first one was easy, the second one not-so. Well that is exactly what happens when you leave things to the last minute but managed to get some in the end! So I alighted at Somerset MRT, and decided to go to the ‘Party With Us’ store at Centre Point in Orchard Road to buy the black and white facepaint, I ended up going to an Arts Store in Takashimaya near my apartment – luckily they had some 🙂
As I was in the 313 Somerset store, my stomach was rumbling, so I decided to grab a spot of lunch at Food Republic – well that was the plan! I went up to the 5th floor, and then I noticed at the top of the escalator that there wa a Teppanyaki Restaurant in front of me. I had a quick peak a the menu and it wasn’t too badly priced. There was a set-menu where you get a Miso Soup, Vegetables, Fish Teppanyaki sides, bowl of Rice and a choice of Beef or Chicken Teppanyaki for the main dish – all of S$12.80. This sounded perfect, so I said yup to this! With my Lemon Barley drink – it came to t toal of S$15.80. At least it is eatig some different for a change 🙂
It’s a nice place, it had quite a good location and there were plenty of people enjoying the atmosphere here. My dish was cooked in front of me (I still love the Teppanyaki cooking approach) and then I enjoyed the food, whilst reading the ‘Today Weekend’ newspaper to get the local gossip and happenings 🙂
The food was really nice, nicely cooked…and was thoroughly delicious, very tasty, and filled the spot nicely! The staff were very attentive and charming too.
All in all, a relaxing experience. Would I come again, yes I probably would, was it value for money – not bad at all actually!
