What does one do to mark Halloween, well have a party! One of my Amex work colleagues invited me to a Party around his place, and I couldn’t say no 🙂 It’s a party, after all!
I spent the last couple of weeks looking for a costume, but I managed to get one in ‘Party With Us’ at Centre Point, luckily it was only down the road, so pretty convenient 🙂 It was the Grim Reaper (the finger of ‘death’) – the only challenge with the costume, the skull mask – I hate wearing masks, although it did look like a good one. So I decided to ditch the mask and go with the ghostly face paint instead. But I did have a scythe but for some stupid reason, I left it at my apartment and I left – silly me!
Anyway, it was off Changi Road, so I had a trek to get there from Orchard. I had two options: got via the MRT or go via Taxi. I thought I’d choose the easiest of the two, and choose the Taxi route. I went down to the Wisma Atrium and queued at the Taxi Rank. I started to get some weird looks (okay, that’s normal!), and there were about 10 groups of people ahead of me, so I knew I had a wait for my taxi. I should have touched the shoulder of some of them, and ‘in character’ ask them whether they wanted to share a taxi – and then see their reaction (or get a slap in the face!) 🙂 Ha!
It took about 15-20 minutes to get a taxi and another 15-20 minutes to arrive at Changi Road – well it must have been a busy night out there. I found the location of place pretty easily, and settled in to the party funness. Although I was meant to be there at 7.30pm, I arrived just gone 8pm, well the taxi wait and the traffic was to blame – lol!

It was great fun, lots of conversations, laughs and enjoyment (aka drinking!). Then the drinking games started! We did the ‘Indian’ one – no, not that one, the other one, as in Cowboy and Indians! In short, we had to stick a card to our forehead, and then the cans of beers were poured until someone shouted stop – with the lowest card holder then having to down the beer. The aim was to predict that you have the lower card and shout stop when you feel ready! Unfortunately, I lost twice, but Simone lost 3 times, and Daniel twice too.
We then moved onto the next one, to name someone who you would sleep with, push off a cliff, and one you would marry. Hmmm….I am not telling my choices, but the person knows who she is! Oh and what was said in that room, stays in that room – that’s the rule of the game 🙂
Luckily, a fellow couple was heading back to Orchard Road early morning, so I managed to grab a lift – that was nice of them! Least I didn’t need to hail a cab looking like death (in more ways than one – ha!)
You can always tell when it is a good night, when the next morning my voice is pretty croaky 🙂 Hahaha! Brilliant!
