Well today, I’ve finally received my official Employee Pass (Working Permit Card) which entitles me to work official in Singapore until 1st July 2012. It’s a tangible result of the assignment placement that I am on, whilst also now allows me to sort the next most important “settle-in” activity, my local pre-paid SIM card. Life without a mobile – ha! The irony is that you can open a Bank Account without a Employee Pass (card) – as they accept the Notification of Employee letter as proof, but you can’t obtain a Pre-Paid SIM until you get the Employee Pass card – weird, hey?
That said, I do need to wait for my allowance monies to come through, as I’m starting to be on the limits of the cash that I brought in with me – and I am trying my darn hardness not to use my UK credit or debit cards whilst in Singapore 🙂 Well that’s an urge you don’t hear everyday, Aaron trying to stop spending money – hahaha! Hopefully it is just a matter of a few days before I get the money through to my local bank account, and then I can withdrawn without getting the FX hit!
Well, I do work in Card Financial Services – ha!
