Cin Cin to the Sling

Well the time has come to enjoy the Sling… !!

My relocation / settle-in company was kind enough to introduce me to another secondee, Alan Andrews, who is working for BHP and is based here in Singapore for about 4 months (or possibly longer).  We decided to meet-up at the Fairmont, and then we made our way for a bite to eat in the nearby Food Court at the nearby Raffles Place Shopping Mall.

Of course, after food, one must have a drink (or two) and so we decided to go for a Sling @  the Raffles Hotel – it simply HAD to be done!  It still looks like such a fine establishment, the colonial atmosphere is simply fantastico!  And the classic gin and brandy drink, well it was delightful – and reminded me of when I was here last (in 2003!!).  We decided to go for another – and really relaxed and enjoyed the scenary (well it had fresh pineapple juice, so surely is classed as one of my five a day, no?).  I must come back again for the High Tea or a Brunch – haha!

We decided to leave after the second Sling, and asked for the bill – it worked out to be SGD $24++ – hmmm… okay a bit steep, but worth every drop!  If you think about it when it was SGD$3 to GBP £1 (about 3-4 years ago), that would be £8 for a glass, now it’s equiv to £12.  So yes an adventurous “experience” to savour for the right moment, or the right guest!  Haha – the person knows who she is 🙂

Anyway, here’s to the Sling…cin, cin!!
