I joined a work colleague, his old Professor-college friend and his wife on a road-trip to Broga, which is South-East of Kuala Lumpur. After visiting the University of Nottingham, we past the Temple near Broga, and then headed towards the Broga Fish Farm – and the Broga Recreational Fishing Park Restaurant – one word to summarise this eating establishment –> “yummy“!.
It’s on a slide road, which appears to go to no where, but the Fish-Farm-turn-Restaurant is at the end of the road. It’s an amazing find, and one that the Professor had been recommended from his colleagues at the University.
There is a Fish Farm right next to the open-air restaurant, in fact the fresh water ponds were all around the restaurant, and I was told that the different ponds were for the different ‘ages’ of the fish, as they grew.
It was a simple concept, grow the fish, kill the fish, add various sauces / spices / flavourings to the fish, wrap the fish up with the sauce within foil, and cook the fish the same way over a charcoal grill – et voila – an amazing feast on a plate.
Oh and how much was the meal – well RM84 (that’s about £18) – amazing, hey!
- Luckily we didn’t need to catch our own lunch!
