Yes you heard it right…SGD$10 (£5) head-cut cut in 10-minutes – any style, both genders. The concept is simple, and I wanted to give it a go… but let me explain it in more details, as it is a bit weird in places!! 🙂
Well this concept has to have come from Japan (of course). They created a process that cut down all of the fuss at the hair-dresses, so the concept cut down (excuse the pun) the process to the basics.
- They focus on quality, cleaniness and efficiency. So at each of the outlets, there is a ticket machines which you get after pay your S$10! You pay in advance!
- When its your turn, you take a seat in the chair. In front of you is a booth which stores all of the sanitised tools and equipment. They ask whether you want to store your bags/personal belongings in the booth cupboard. They even have a glasses holder for you, with a santised towel which they replace between customers.
- After you tell the hair stylist how you would like your hair cut, they then put the gown around you, and then put a fresh neck towel – not a paper towel as most commonly used.
- They use an environmental-comb unique for each customer, meaning that they never reuse this. They even offer this to you at the end, to keep as a sourvenir! 🙂
- They also have a ethanol sterlizer which they spray on the shavers after each each use.
- Each piece of equipment is sanitised between customers, in a sterlizer box – disinfected with ultra-violet rays.
- After your hair cut is completed, they actually use a ‘vacuum’ (which is part of the booth) to “vacuum” over your head. They call it an ‘air washer’ – or should that be “H”air washer? – Get it!! 🙂
- It does take (approximately) 10 minutes for each cut, and after you have finished, they use a broom to move most of the hair on the floor towards a gap in the booth, and then they turn the vacuum pump on again, which sucks up the trimmed hair from the floor. So the floor stays remarkable clean and free of the majority of the loose hair!

- The outline of the precise process followed! Funny to watch!
It’s a bit funny to watch each session, but actually it was a great idea – quick and efficient.
