What a fun and different way to spend a birthday, than being invited to a Deepavali / Diwali party. I was very fortunate to be invited to this special festival party, and jumped to the chance of celebrating it in style – with all of the trimmings and traditions linked to this. Time for a big party-la!
So with a mix of good entertainment, good company, good drinks, good food (perfectly made Mojitos – healthy drink right?) – with the added enjoyment of Sparklers to mark the occassion (outside use, mind you) – it was purely good fun. What great hospitality! Thanks-la 🙂
We played the Taboo (card) game, splitting the group into 2 teams of 4, one called the ‘Winners’ and the other team called the ‘Winners of the Winners’, and I must admit the first round I played, I sucked big time – I couldn’t even grasping anything in my mind to describe the word – doh – kinda defeats the object of the game! Luckily, I got steadily better on the second and third attempt. Our host, Neha, even managed to bag 6 in a roll – someone’s been practising 🙂 We came second, which isn’t too bad I guess, that’s different from last, right? – Hahaha!
Then we moved on to the Sparklers outside, and that actually was good fun – I always seem to be like a young lad when I start playing with the Sparklers and it really reminds me of good ol’ Lewes Bonfire Night. 🙂 (Damn it, that reminds me that I am going to miss it this year, only the second time in 10-12 years – real bummer!). Anyway, one of us suggested that we try to spell the word DIWALI – so we tried…and tried…and tried…but eventually (before we were about to run out of Sparklers!) we did it – yay! What fun and what a quest! Haha!

A wonderful time – but sigh, there is work tomorrow (today), so best get some rest, before the next couple of days of work…luckily it’s the weekend soon – yay! Just a shame that the weather was shockingly bad today, rain showers continuously throughout today – hey-ho, can’t have it all! 🙂
So Happy Deepavali / Diwali – festival of light, and onwards to the next fun session…
