Leaving Drinks: Friday 16th Dec – Mixed Emotions

Well time is flying by, and with almost 5 months flying by now, this means I only officially have 1 month left before I return back to the UK for good.  Just in time for the dark, cold and wet UK Winter :o)  I just hope it’s not as cold as last year!!!  Gees!

Hmmm....Guinness :)

Hmmm....Guinness 🙂

Anyway, I had a few venues in mind, but having got around to book them yet, but a leaving drink / event is not the same without people – so I sent out an ‘advance’ planning note for Friday, 16th December – just after work.  In my cover note, I explained that as a Project Manager, advance planning is key, so I’ve developed the project plan, confirmed the resources, secured the funding and ready to commence the ‘testing’ – haha!

I’m actually looking forward to it, as it would also be my last work-day in the office, as I plan to take the last couple of weeks of December off as holiday.  Nice!

I will definitely miss Singapore – I’ve got to know some great people, had lots of fun, enjoyed the work, managed to really get used to Singapore life (including the expensive Guinness), and climatised soooo easily… I simply love the place.  We’ll see what happens, but I know I always have the safety net of returning back to my previous role – which was always the intention anyway of the development programme I am on.

I wonder what 2012 has in store for me?  Who knows, but 6 months in Singapore has been a life-time experience, something which has met all of my expectations and MORE!  Ha!
