Vietnam Holiday – Ho Chi Minh City: Day 1 Sights and Sounds

Well the first morning involved wandering around HCMC and visiting the tourist sights within District 1. I decided to walk everywhere as I found previously this is the best way to see the hustle and bustle of places like this – and being a real part of the City life!

I noticed that there were a lot of nice art galleries in the city, in fact some of the artwork looked toooooo nice … I was almost tempted to buy a few pieces for my house – but stop shopped! Well the real reason is that I only had a back-pack, so wasn’t sure how to bring the items back to Singapore 🙂 I walked onto visit the Opera House – which was a nice place indeed, where they were showing the Nutcracker opera…opposite the Opera House was a flag-ship LV store…

When I reached the Notre Dame Cathedral – I noticed that there were quite a few Weddings happening around this area – well the photo-shoots to support the wedding 🙂 Located just opposite the Cathedral was the impressive Central Post Office – I can see the French characteristics in the building design.

I also noticed that there were quite a few art students around the area, painting some of the established buildings in the City Centre… so I took a photo of them! ha!

There was one shop that looked pretty cute – it was called “Mini You” which basically creates little charactures and minatures models of you 🙂 Well if I find the true love of my life, this would be a place to take her – lol 🙂

I continued walking around and then decided to head back to the hostel to freshen up, before heading off for some night-time fun 🙂
