Well I call it ‘red meat’ – but basically it’s BBQ’d meat that is dried and then offered for sale. One word that can express my thoughts on this product – “addictive” … well that’s not really the best way to describe it… actually “tantalisingly delicious” (okay that’s two words), but if you give it a try, especially when it’s freshed cooked and dried, you will see what I mean! AND try the Chilli variety – they have a nice kick to it! 😉
The place I purchased from Bee Cheng Hiang, 2 slices of BBQ Minced Pork (SGD$ 45/kilo) and 2 BBQ Beef (SGD$50/kilo) – it worked out to be about $22 in total in the end for the 4 slices – not too bad – that’s about £11.
Well it was a treat, after all!! There was actually another place that seems to be popular with the locals down China Town, called “Lim Chee Cuan” – not sure if it is a small family business or something – but it sure was popular – long queues outside…anyone know? 🙂
