Dinner @ Yoko’s in Changkat Bukit Bintang

I was trying to meet-up with one of the GRP’s from Wave-1 who was based in World Service, in the Weld, Kuala Lumpur.  We were aiming to meet him at the lobby of this service apartment (hotel) complex, but had I had decided to change the venue last minute to nearer to our hotel, as my other colleague had to take a call at 8pm.  However, I think I must have been texting his office number, and not his mobile, as he didn’t seem the receive the message 🙁

We decided to give one of the places a go along Changkat Bukit Bintang.  It was only a few blocks down from the hotel, about 15 minute walk, and there was quite a choice on offer.

We had a look at some of the Irish Bars, but I must admit that they looked very tacky, and didn’t look that enjoyable.  Some were empty, some only had a few patrons, another one was quite busy, but the atmosphere didn’t seem that nice.  Anyway, we went for Japanese, and Yoko’s was the sole contender.

I must admit the food was ‘passable’ but the service was absolutely crap!  There was no manager in sight, and the two waitresses didn’t seem to want to be there – they looked bored, couldn’t even break a smile, and didn’t seem to make any effort whatsoever.

And the food – well lets just say my colleague, who’s wife is Japanese, didn’t think too highly of the food, and I think we jointly felt it could reach no higher than 6 out of 10 (and that was being quite generous it!).  Maybe it was an off day?

I couldn’t even be bothered to take any photos of the food – must say for itself, how poor it was!  Haha!
