Relaxing Friday evening

Well it was a pretty good Friday all-in-all.  It was busy day at work, but I made sure there was a bit of fun in-between.

After work, well the classic after-work drinks with my colleagues.  Ended up being a big group of people from various teams – it was actually great to chat to most people in a different setting.  Also, because I am based in a hot-desk on the other side of the office, I don’t normally go round to speak or see the other side of the office – must sort that out too!  Ha!

Sapporo - BOGOF Offer :)

Sapporo - BOGOF Offer 🙂

We ended up going to Akari – a Japanese Bar and Restaurant, and even though there was a heavy downpour about 3-4pm, the outside area was actually very nice and relaxing.  Most importantly there was a Happy Hour(s) drinks offer until 8pm – where you would buy one Sappora and get another one for free – BONUS!

I was aiming just to go for a couple of drinks and then head off home for a quiet and early night, as was pretty shattered from a busy week of work, but a couple of colleagues had other ideas 🙂  Ha!

I reluctantly (hmmm…okay that’s not exactly true – ha!) followed them to Boat Quay where we had a nice session at the Indian House, a nice Bar and Restaurant along the quayside.  Great views and great ambience, and would highly recommend this place!  My colleagues knew the owners/partners of the bar, so the overall setting and experience was superb!  They even offered to get me some Guinness, even though they didn’t have any on the menu – now THAT’S service!

After a couple of hours, we decided to move down to one of the other bars, and we ended up in RedDot BrewHouse, just along Boat Quay –  a great place, interesting ‘environment’ (eye candy alert!).

They were showing the England/India Cricket match, which we were doing extremely well, when I last looked at the score it was 320 for 2 in the First Innings – amazing stuff!  (Sorry to my Indian chums, who I was with on Friday night, but it was a good game to watch!)

Got the taxi home and I had a feeling that I was going to be feeling the effects on Saturday morning – ha!
